Momentum Dance Collective performed Ice at the Anchorage Museum in October, as a pre-performance, a research phase, to their upcoming show’ “Impact”, a collaboration with the city of Anchorage.

Ice is a new composition by Christel Veraart, part of the Polar Suite project. It features impetuous rhythmical patterns to reflect the impermanence of ice, of life in the Arctic, creating an atmosphere of transience that excludes all permanence.

I listen to your music whenever I’m driving…  I am starting to feel that the music creates a whole other world… It is this Alaskan landscapes idea. It could be a very beautiful film if we wanted to go out into places that an audience could be asked to hike to…Momentum’s Artistic Director Becky Kendall
