Composer Christel Veraart has won two prestigious awards (Award of Merit and Award of Recognition) from The Accolade Global Film Competition. The awards were given for Christel Veraart’s Original Score and Music Video of Winter Solstice, which envelopes the listener in the quiet yet breathtaking Alaskan landscape. Winter Solstice captures the intensity of winter, when days are cloaked in darkness. Winter Solstice is one of the fifteen original compositions of Polar Suite, Christel Veraart’s latest CD that was funded by the Rasmuson Foundation.
The journey of a lonesome cello, surrendering to the elements of the Arctic winter. – A constant reminder of how much landscape and emotion are intertwined.
